    Hi everyone,
I have some JPEG picture of the earth (720×486, Square pixels) that when I import it in FCP, the earth will not look round because it converts it in non-square pixels. I know that I need to convert my picture from Square pixels to non-square pixels AND keep the aspect of the earth round, but how to do it? That is my question.

    Thanks for the help,

    Patrick

720×486 is a non square native format. So if the pic is non square, put it into a non square comp (which almost all digital SD NTSC material is) and then it’ll get corrected upon output with the rest of your video. 720×540 is square pixel. If it is truly square pixel 720×486 (which would take a bit of extra work to accomplish), simply scale the clip horizontally and the aspect will be corrected. You can also open the distort tab in the motion menu after applying your clip to see if FCP is automatically trying to correct the aspect.
