Onlining a FCPX 10.4 project in DaVinci Resolve 15
Dear FCPX Experts,
I have an urgent question:
in 2 days I am getting a FCPX documentary delivered to Grade in DaVinci.
With tests, I did on my FCPX on my system, I realized, that animated stills – re-sizing and position animation,
come not in well through the FCPX XML: It connects to to still, but without the animation (keyframes got lost).Now, my question: Is the only way to make this work, that the offline editor has to render out all animated Stills and all Video Files with FX on them,
and then replace those files with the exports in the timeline. So replacing all animated stills with Movies?Or is there another way to get them into DaVinci with the right information regarding animation?

That is a good plan. Davinci will render out movies anyway, might as well get it done before the online.

Yup, that was my thought as well.
It’s just annoying: After a period of sheer hate, when Apple released FCPX and killed 7,
I actually grew into liking and appreciating it quiet a bit,
but the fact, that it’s creating a true mess when it comes to XML info about re-sizing and re-position stills,
makes it a nightmare for documentaries (like in the one I online now, there is more than 60 Stills inside).
Apple should really fix this….amongst many other things.Best,

Apple should really fix this….amongst many other things.”The information is in the XML. Davinci seems to ignore it. I wouldn’t lay the blame on Apple for this one, but to Blackmagic.
Ironically, if you translate the fcpxml to xml using XtoCC and import that to DaVinci, you may find that the keyframes are in tact.
Apple is providing the information, DaVinci is choosing to not use that information.
