  online video compression and stutter

  Hi Forum

  Can anyone help. I am editing some videos for web and in particular Flash, reducing the size to 512×288(FLV on2 VP6 – adobe media encoder- VBR x2, 1000 mps). The video’s were shot on Z1, 1080i setting. I am editing with FCP 6.0.5, HDV 1080 setting.

  I have tried quite a few compression techniques, and playing back the SWF’s in the flash player isn’t too bad. However, when uploaded to a web server, I encounter a lot of what looks like drop out and stuttering.

  Now, I know it maybe excessive use of panning the camera, and the codec finds this tough, but it doesn’t seem to happen as much on SD footage, and not so much via stand alone flash player. Example video below. Worst bit in the middle, near where the snow covered tree’s are.

  If any one has any working methods, ideas, I would be grateful to hear.
  Could it be my web server (windows 2003), original footage (too rich), codec choice?
