    HEllo…
I’m editing an HDV project on fcp, and I have some annoying bugs that I thought you might help me with.
first, media that is playedback shows as offline on the timeline, why ?
second, I get horrible audio stutter on playback when no video clips are on the video timeline. black matte gives me back good audio, also if the gap between the missing clips is not big I still get good audio,
    why ?

    thanks in advance,
    zinim.

Whenever online clips show up as offline it is a very good sign that you need to trash your preferences. Perhaps doing so will fix the other issues as well.

Actually, trashing the thumbnail cache files usually gets rid of the offline problems.

As for the audio problems. How many tracks of audio do you have and what kind of harddrive are you working off of?

Why were the clips offline in the first place?

Firdt of, thank you for your answers…
second, the files where never offline, and I don’t think this has nothing to do with the audio.
even with one audio track it playsback stuttering, even when I turn of the video playback. it only plays right if I have audio+video together playing at the same time. doesn’t matter if the audio source is from external drive or internal… just strange. oh… and the audio plays fine in the viewer window if I have it there, it’s just doesn’t on the timeline.
    Zinim.
