Have a client who wants an HDCAM showreel converted to a web HD format. I’ve tried to persuade them that QT H.264 is the way to go – but I think they are keen to have a WMV HD version as well.

This is a one-off in reality, we don’t much get involved with web content, so I don’t really want to pay $179 for the pro version of flip4mac, and I was planning on doing the whole thing as a freebie anyway. Is there an alternative? Can anyone give me an idea if wmv-hd is being widely used (or more used than QT-hd)? Does wmv-hd require a particular download from microsoft, or is it just supported by wmv, like the latest version of QT?

    That’s enough questions I think.

    Many thanks

    Ben
