  • one frame o black on out of DVR 1000 edit to tape

    Hi

I am using my kona LHe to control a Sony DVR1000 D-1 vtr (yes, i said D-1) from my FCP 5.1.4. When i insert edit onto the tape, i get a frame of black on the out. i think whats happening is the machine is coming out of edit 1 frame later than the timelines outpoint, so the timeline stops, FCP cuts to black, and it gets recorded. I cant seem to find anyway to adjust edit timeing on the VTR, and there is nothing in the Device Control presets.

hs anyone else had problems like this with Dbeta or DV50 etc?

i have a UVW 1800 and its inserting fine

I know the DVR1000 is an old machine, but i would like to get this to happen

    thanx

    You are ‘blackbursted’, correct?

Can you try ending the insert one frame early from FCP?

    Jeremy

Everyone is getting ref right now; the D1 is ref from input video, and my card is genlocked to a blackburst generatoer.

If i end the edit one frame earlier, the frame of black happens one frame earlier.

I was looking through the op and maint manual (a weighty tome indeed) and i found nothing on calibrating in out timeing.

i am gonna play around with D1 reference and “reacton time” on the D1, see what that does

    thanx for the reply

Perhaps a ring to AJA Customer Support is in order.

The only other thing I’d try is sending ref to the D1 from your blackburst instead of ‘video in’.

    hey, get this

the D1 was already in Ext Ref, so i switched it to Input, and the black frame went away AND the blanking got skinnier!!

its too bad it didnt help my complexion 🙂

There ya go. I figured it was some sort of ref issue.

    Nice job.
