I have a quicktime file that I loaded in FCP. It is about 2 hours and 8 minutes long. The entire file exists as a Quicktime file outside of FCP but the last 5 minutes are cut off when I imported it. Does someone know what this means? Everything was going great then I hit the end 5 minutes early. I tried a new project and imported it and it did the same thing. Although, as I said before it is complete outside of FCP. I am running version 6.0.6.

Open it in QuickTime Pro and check the properties.

The format/codec of the Quicktime file.

…and if End Time has been set [which would then be to something other than the full length of the clip].

There has been no end time set that I can see. Did you mean Quicktime Player? I don’t have Quicktime Pro. The full piece opens fine in Motion.

Dude, steven. Open the file in quicktime. Hit command-i and report back the codec or format.

I looked for one and could not see one. i figured out a way to isolate the cutoff piece and make that into its own file and bring it in. Too weird.
