    Hello All, (Been a while!)

Looking for some help, as I have not keep up with products the way I should.

I offered to help an associate find a camera. Budget is around $1,200.

I can’t seem to find anything that I would like to see in a camera of this cost. (3CCD and mic input are my biggest wants.) As it has been quite a while that I have used a smaller camera can anyone give me an idea?

I see some models that seem ok, but am unsure. Are there any 1CCD models that have fairly accurate color? The target is going to be for web.

I see that cannon is probably the way to go…

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Chip

I have the Canon HG10 and HV20. Both have 1/2.7 single CMOS sensor. They both produce color that rivals 3 chip CCD cameras (the 1/3 inch type). HV20 (and a later version HV30) does both HDV and SD to tape. HG10 does AVCHD and has 30 GB hard drive, great but more difficult to edit AVCHD. They all have external mike in.
You can get them new on ebay for about $750.

    Hi John,

Sorry for the delay in Thanks.
I took your advice and suggested the Cannon HV30.
Sounds like a perfect camera for what she needs to do…

    Thanks again for your time.
