    Hi All,

I just got a Sony portable recorder, actually, I have both the VRD-MC5 and now the 6

The 6 was supposed to be able to record 16×9… but even when I feed it 16×9, it still records 4×3

This is just off the AV outs of one of my newer Canon G30’s – but the unit will show/display the 16×9 image fine as a preview.

There doesn’t seem to be an option to change this in the unit… is it just ignoring the 16×9 flag when it’s doing the actual recording?

I realize that Im not going to get HD quality, since Im going AV out to start with, but that’s ok, since this is SD DVD – but I was hoping that it would retain the flag at least, so I’d have 16×9, and it would letterbox on a 4×3 TV

Is there such a device that would allow me to burn a true 16×9 DVD on the spot like that? – some of the work I do, there is like zero budget, and it would be nice to have a 2 hr show done when Im done shooting it, but it really needs to be in 16×9, since that’s what it’s shot in….

    Any help/ideas here?

    Thanks
