We acquire on XDCAM disc which is 1440 X 1080i and have for many years. We were just chatting here at the office and realized that FC has an interlace filter, and we’ve never tried it! So right now we’re doing some AB comparisons, but I thought it would be worth asking on CC what other people’s experiences are with that filter on FC. Does it improve the picture noticably? If so, where do you see the improvement? tx

    Hi Thomas,
No one de-interlacing filter will improve the picture quality, the best filters will degrade the picture less than the others.
The FC’s deinterlacer is not at all a good one.
The best tool for deinterlacing inside FC has been for years the Re_Vision FieldsKit.
The Nattress also offers options not available in the FCs filter.
