OMG I can’t open my project!
I have a project I’ve been working on in AE 7.0.1 and now it won’t open. Before it opens I get an error message “AE has unexpectedly quit”
It makes copies of the project, but none of them will open. I wasn’t doing anything crazy in it either. I was literally putting a dozen video clips from FCP
in this project and moving them around with a motion back. That’s it. I even tried moving the footage to the mac hd, and tried to do that, but that didn’t do it either.
Any ideas? -

Try opening a fresh project and importing like you would import footage.

Make sure you have your CAP LOCKS ON. This will stop AE from trying to draw the screen. If it opens then you can delete any effects form the footage that may be causing the crash.

Like Filip said – import the file into another AE project. If you;re not clear on how to do this, watch this tutorial
