CS 5.5. I need help fine tuning my Multicam workflow when it comes to handling audio tracks. I’ve encountered an issue where my OMF exports show up with missing audio when it’s opened by the sound designer. I’ve tried troubleshooting and read a variety of posts on these forums, but I’m still not sure where I am introducing the errors in my workflow.

Example of recent issue. My Premiere sequence has six mono audio tracks. A1-2 are for the main interview bytes, A3-4 for broll sound, A5-6 for music. The sound from the interviews and broll come from EX3 camera (1920×1080, 23.976, 48 Hz – 16 bit – 2 Mono). The music is stero wav files imported into Premiere to be 2 mono.

The reported problems were that only one track of audio shows in Pro Tools. And, in some cases, when it came to broll sound there was no sound at all.

Please review my workflow and note where I can improve to avoid these issues.

    1. Created sequence A (Matching the Xdcam EX3 footage specs). Place all clips (audio and video) from the two cameras. Cam A on V1, A1-2. Cam B on V2, A304. Sync clips.

    2. In Seq A. Nest Video tracks only. Leave audio as is (two separate mono tracks).

    3. In Seq A. Enable multicam on the nested video. After verifying sync, I then delete Cam B audio, keeping the two channels from Cam A.

    4. I then edit, add audio from broll shots, and music. Finally export the OMF [48 Hz, 16 bit, encapsulated, wav, handles of 48].

Thanks for any help you can provide

Curious if this could be related to the media cache files & database? Currently set to the default internal system drive. C:Users…AppData Roaming Adobe Common

There appears to be a correlation between some of the problem clips that import into ProTools and Audition (via OMF) as empty files, also showing in PrP with no waveform in sequence (but sound is heard).

While doing tests between PrP OMF exports and Audition imports I get error messages. On export:
    Failure opening file:
    \?C:Users\\AppData\Local\TempINTRO_~1

And, error on import of OMF into Audition:
    C:Users\\Documents\TestOMF_export\test\test_v1.omf
Warning: 58 of the 145 clips have no file asset.
