April 2, 2005 at 2:15 amSo like, yesterday I’m trying to import some OMFs from a DVD and no dice. Gives me an exception error and lists a file missing.
I drag em over to my desktop and import again and all is well.
Sup widdat?
I’ve tried to figure out the difference but my poor little melon can’t come up with whats different about importing from the hard drive. -

April 2, 2005 at 5:18 amDVD’s appear as “read-only” to the operating system. If during the OMF import the AVID attempts to write anything to the drive it pulling the OMF from, it may cause an error like this. Since your hard disk is R/W capable, it doesn’t exhibit the same problem.
