OMF Export problems… bugs?
Need a little help…
Took a sequence that I’ve been working on in FCP 5.0.2 for the last couple of months and exported the audio via OMF. Looking at the sequence immediately after it was totally messed up with holes and clips missing. Quit FCP without saving and opened the project again to find that all the audio files were missing/disconnected. FCP found them but the same sequence was totally screwed. Next I opened one of the project files from my Autosave Vault that was saved before the OMF export… same thing… that particular sequence was screwed… how can that be?
Don’t know if the OMF Export is good until I hand it over to the audio post studio.
I have an offsite backup of the project, but I’m afraid to open it.
Any insight greatfully appreciated.

I’ve never heard of FCP’s OMF export messing up a project file, but anything is possible. Always save your project file before exporting.

The project file was saved prior to exporting the OMF file… that’s what I can’t figure out. Even Autosave Vault project files from hours before the OMF export are showing the same holes and missing clips on that particular sequence… all other sequences are okay. There was no nesting either.
