I have upgraded to FCP 6 and am having trouble getting the FCP to ingest P2 cards. I read that FX Factory caused problems. I rented my camera and I think my CD with drivers went missing. This was the CD that is about 2 years old. Anyway, I downloaded the latest driver from panasonic and maybe this latest P2 driver is having problems with FCP 6.

Anyway, I would like to obtain an older version of the P2 driver. Is there anywhere I can download it?

No that shouldn’t be an issue- trust me if you have FCP 6.04 with the latest OS and QT you want the current drivers, not old ones.

    What exactly is the ‘trouble’?

I have a G4 and G5. I just upgraded to FCP studio 6. When I insert a p2 card into the slot on the G4, sometimes FCP 6 doesn’t see the card. The card mounts on the MAC. Sometimes I have to restart FCP to finally get a card to take. You can ingest from a card, eject it and add another. FCP won’t recognize the second card. Anyway it is a little frustrating and I did find a thread where (I think it was Shane) talked about uninstalling the FX factory trials and freebies, because the affected the ingest of P2 data.

I can go to the card from finder and see that it has files on it, so the MAC is reading the card. I have 10.4.11. I hope this helps.

G4 Powerbook? If that’s the case, yes you have to restart your computer after you remove the P2 card. That’s the way it is. Has nothing to do with FX Factory.

got it. Is this because of version FCP 6? I was always able to eject cards in FCP 5.1 and add another. Not hot swap, but I didn’t have to restart the G4.
