I’m trying to upgrade an older Dell Precision I have for home editing use so I can get some lite work done on the weekends. I want to install a Decklink SP. Here’s the current config:

    Pentium D
    Intel chipset 945P
    Open PCI 33 slots (2)
Open PCIe x1 and x4 slots (1 each)

Is this something I should even consider, or should I just upgrade to a whole new box? My concern is that the 945P chipset isn’t compatible. If anyone has tried a similar config, I’d appreciate any info.

    Hi,

Sorry, but we will not recommend using Dell systems. In fact, Dell systems are specifically mentioned as a “not supported” system in our System Requirements page. This is due to the use of different components in the system even if the model number remains the same.

    regards
