Old Final Cut Pro set up
Hello,
Need help on how to perhaps upgrade a lighly used older mac to edit low end feature films on.
My question is should I update some hardware and/or software to use it or try and use as is?It the G5 and is running 10.3.9
Final Cut Pro HD
and a duel 2 ghz (mac) processors and 3.5 g of
ddr.The camera is a sony ex-1.

You’d be miles ahead with an intel based mac so you could run FCS (2009) and FCP 7… Miles and miles. For starters, it’s inexpensive, and it supports what that camera shoots. I can’t recall if FCP 6 did, but if it does, you need to at least upgrade to that. FCP HD won’t work with the XDCAM files at all.
