A 1k Red Head. I have relamped it to 650 W, and wonder if it’s worth getting the barn doors, accessory holder and some scrims.

Or, just invest the money in another light kit.

Nice fixture, Ty! Put a Chimera on it and don’t worry about all that other stuff. It’s never going to be a nice direct light compared to a fresnel.

I’m warning you — you keep up this cameraman stuff and I’m going to start learning how to record sound.

    Ty,

The Ianaro “Red Head” has been the basic open faced quartz light in Europe for many years. It’s rugged, safe and reliable, but like all open faced units is rarely used without either diffussion gel attached to doors, or a bounce source or in a light box like a chimera. Rather than get rid of it, if I were you, I’d get a couple more and build a compact location lit around it.

    JS,

Thanks so much for your response. I’m digging up an acccessory holder, doors and maybe some scrims now.

    Bob,

Right! Like you always call me to do sound for your shoots! 🙂
