OK, I know this is a stupid question, but does FCP have any kind of trash BIN like Avid and most other NLE’s I’ve used? I know you can UNDO a deleted file from the BROWSER, but I often like to trash stuff (which comes back after a project is closed and reopened) BEFORE I finally commit it to infinity and beyond. Yes, I could create my own BIN and name it TRASH, but I’d have to drag stuff to it rather then hit the delete key.

    Thanks.

    All the best,

There isn’t one. Pressing DELETE gets rid of the clip (BUT NOT THE MEDIA) from the browser, or the bin. But there is nothing like that TRASH can that I have seen.

If, after deleting Media, and selecting the option for “Leave In Trash”, you can always drag the media clip out of the trash and put it back into your Capture Scratch folder. This media file can then be reimported to FCP.

Secondly, if you really, really wanted a file you deleted from your projects browser, you can always open an older project from the Auto Save bin and drag it to your current project.
