  • Offsetting keyframes in a mograph cloned sequence

Hi – I ‘ve got an animated flower which has been cloned.
The cloner mode is set to object….the object is a sphere and the clones are attached to the surface of the sphere.

The sphere is animated to warp and the cloned flowers move/sway with the sphere as it ‘wobbles’.

My issue is that the flower itself has an animation (it unfolds/buds over 50 frames). At the moment all of the cloned flowers ‘bud’ at the same time. I’ve tried using a frame offset in a random effector and a plain effector but it makes no difference. What is the best way to offset the animated keyframes for each cloned flower so that I get some overlap in my ’emerging’ cluster of cloned flowers?

    Any help would be great.

how much overlap do you need? and for how long?

…Can’t you just duplicate the flower group a few times and offset the blooming keyframes?

Do you have the cloner’s “render instances” box checked? If so, uncheck it. It doesn’t work with animation offset.

Thanks Cassius – that worked fine.
