Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Expressions offset time of a looped precomp

i have designed a looping precomp of a simple animation.
i want to duplicate it several times -(in the parent comp)- and then offset the time of each one so they appear different.
so as i randomly assign different offset points on each layers time, i want it to WRAP the adjusted time from the END of the composition to the FRONT of the composition to make a series of looping but seemingly unique mini loops all from one precomped loop.
    Does my explanation make sense?
    Am i missing something obvious?
i would think this should be as simple as *Layer*Time*Time-Offset
but such an option doesn’t seem to exist in AEcs3.
