I have two videos – one which is a full-screen capture from a show, and the other is a montage of photos. The montage is a thin strip – only 480 high, and I would like to overlay this video onto the bottom half of the clip from the show. Dropping both tracks on the timeline and setting the opacity of one gives me the effect I want, but the overlay track is always centered, and I would like to move it to the bottom half of the underlying track. In the event pan/zoom section I can zoom in, crop, move whatever I like except I do not seem to be able to offset the placement of the clip.

My question is whether I can place an overlay track containing video in the bottom half of the screen?

    Many thanks,

Use track motion (found just over the volume level to the left of your track) and pan the entire track to where you need it.

Rob – thank you very much. I had not used this before, and it never occurred to me – I was focusing on the panning….
