Offset Layers with expression
Posted by Christopher Rotter on June 14, 2009 at 8:16 pmI have (4) layers, with a loop expression on each layer, each layer only has (2) keyframes. How can add to the simple cycle expression I have, an offset for each layer ?

June 15, 2009 at 5:07 amI forgot to mention, how do you cycle (3) axis at once, I have this plug-in that you have to animate each axis individually so how can I apply a cycle so that is affects all three axis at once ? Also how can you tell a layer to start at a specific frame using expressions ?
In my previous post I want to rephrase it. I meant to say I have (4) layers, with a cycle expression on each layer, each layer only has (2) keyframes. How can add to the cycle expression, an offset for each layer so they don’t all cycle at once. I was going to use valueInTime but that expression AFAIK is if you have multiple keyframes which I don’t.

January 25, 2010 at 9:44 pmI think I’m trying to do the same thing so wanted to respond here.
I’m not sure how to add something to the loopOut(); expression.
I’ve got a comp I want to loop, but make a bunch of copies and do something maybe like “value + random number using the index for seed number” to just offset the value. Well, that was my initial thought, but I couldn’t get that to work. How do you offset a loop expression?

January 25, 2010 at 10:42 pmI was helped, by using a variable slider to control the offset. I can’t recall how it was done, but if you want I can offer some routes to follow ?
