I am finding really tough time to move my project from one machine to another for online offline purpose. I do all my offline in one machine and online on another.

I tried to make offline project trough media manager for online. When I took that offline project to another machine with same configuration it gave me hell lot of problems. Especially the motion part doesn

speed ramping is apparently the weakest point of Media Manager.

i would go thru your original fine-cut timeline, and find all the speed ramp shots
(opening up clip keyframes view of the timeline will help: Option T)

match frame your ramped shots, and cut them back in above the ramped shot on a brand new track.
this should give you a non-effected version of the shot.
when you MM you will at least get all the CORRECT frames you need to re-build the shot if the ramped version comes out screwy.

in the past, even simple speed mods didn’t survive the MM.
i tried this trick of mine as a possible escape-route,
and it actually made the MM’ed versions behave.
cant gurantee you’ll have the same luck with ramped shots,
but at least you will have an escape route.

probably someone else has more ideas

    good luck,
    nick

BEfore I do the speed effect, I edit in the original in and out at the very end of the timeline. That way, if FCP messes up the speed changes, I’ll have the original media recaptured at the proper bit depth to remake it. ALthough, i have been having great luck with speed changes in FCP 5.1.4 and the Media Manager. The other thing to do is that if it messes up, simply select that clip and remove the time effect (remove attributes > time). You can then remake it there.
