  • Offline Editing Problem in Multiclip Sequence (CS4)

Hi, i have the following problem, I hope its not too complicated.

I filmed a concert in HD and wanted to output in SD-Quality for a DVD.

As I filmed with 3 cameras I edited the whole thing as a multicamera sequence.

I wanted to edit in HD because I wanted to make use of the extra resolution so I ended up doing quite a few blowups and zoom effects on the footage.

Because my computer couldn’t handle all the files I converted all the file to PAL as proxy files with the plan to switch them back to the HD files, once I finished editing, so that I could make use of the extra resolution.

So my setup is one PAL sequence (A) that contains the footage of the 3 cameras. This sequence is then put in another PAL sequence (B) for the multicam editing. I did all the scaling/zoom effects on the edited footage in Sequence B.

My original plan was then to change the footage files to the HD resolution files and switch the sequence settings, so that they are two HD-sequences, which I would then have output as a PAL file. Now what I DIDN’T KNOW is that you can’t change the sequence settings after the sequence has already been created.

So now I need to find a way to replace my footage with the HD files.

I cannot just create a new HD-sequence and copy my other timeline it it because all the edits are done to the multiclip sequence which I can’t change to HD.

I also cannot just downscale the footage in sequence A, because then it would be first downscaled and then upscaled again in sequence B, ruining the HD resolution.

I hope my problem is somewhat comprehensible. Is there any way what I can change the footage, without having to copy every single cut and scaling attributes? (which would take a while since its about 3 hours long..)

    Thanks..
