offline editing artistic limitations when planning for 24fps master
I was just in a situation where the offline edit was being onlined mid edit so that effects work could be done (the effect house was working in 24fps, while i was at 29.97). Usually i know this is not a big deal, except every single clip had a wacky speed change, and the entire spot was cut to a specific rhythm which matches the audio.
So my question is: What are the self imposed limitations that editors must use when offlining with ntsc footage that will return to 24fps? what are the possible speed changes – whole even numbers only? simple transitions?
