Offline dvcpro hd in 23.98 project
Just a quick question.
Every since we updated to avid 6.5 from 5.5 we have notice a glitch in our work flow.
When Digitizing DCVpro HD 23.98 (24 over 60) into a 23.98 offline project at 14 to 1, Any clip that does not start on the A frame has to get redigitized because Avid doesn’t get the cadence for the pulldown right.
We have been digitizing across timecode breaks for years with no issues assuming we caught the A frame on the first clip. Has anyone else encountered and is there a work around?
Workflow is significanlty slower if my AE’s have to monitor every tape clip by clip.

Do you have the cadence relationship set to “A” frame on :00 in the Film/24p settings? This flags an overall relationship for capture.

Yeah…
Settings are the same as we have always done this. Using the same decks as we did in 5.5 with the same settings…It gets the first clip right but if there is a tc break any clip after that is not on an A frame goes in Jittery.

Sounds like a bug or something has changed in the more recent version. Might need to get a hold of someone at Avid.
