    Hi guys,

I hope you are all well.

I am getting these very odd lines on my 5D which have recently appeared in the last few months and I have no clue why.

I have posted a photo and I’m hoping you can see them.

Does my sensor need a professional clean or is my sensor actually mucking up.

That shot was set to ISO 160 as well but what ever ISO I shoot at it is present.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sharad.

    Hi Sharad,

I downloaded the image and viewed it in photoshop and even with contract and brightness adjusted all the way to the extremes I couldn’t see the lines you are talking about. There may be some noise in the blacks but otherwise no I couldn’t see anything.

I’m not seeing any lines. Can you describe what you are seeing? Can you give specifics? The image is a bit underexposed it seems, are the lines brighter if you crank up the ISO?

    Save early. Save often.

Sorry guys seems as though the photo has darkened, it was lighter when I saved it on the comp.

I think the lines may be banding but I’m not sure.

No matter what ISO setting I set the lines are noticeable

How are you converting or are you editing the h.264? If you are on a Mac, try converting with the free version of 5DtoRGB to ProRes. The program has an algorithm that will help clean up lines if it is a sensor issue.
