Odd Blue Screen During Component Capture
Nitris DS, XW8400, Avid MediaRAID 2.5TB, XPPro SP2, MC3.0
We normally use the SDI input on our Nitris but I have several BetaSP tapes that I need to capture from. When I select the Component setting in the Capture tool, this is what I see:
I have checked all cables, restarted everything, checked settings in the capture and media creation tabs…nothing seems to change it. SDI, Composite and Y/C are all fine. Component seems to be the only input that has this problem.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Check that the component outs of your Beta are correctly run into your Nitris box (did someone run Y to R, for example?). It they’re run right, swap out the cable to see if it’s bad.
Otherwise, not really sure.

Hi Michael. Thanks for the quick reply.
I’ve double checked all the connections but no change. I switched from our PVW-2800 to our BVW-75 and it’s fine now…may be something in the back of the patch panel in the PVW-2800 connections. At least it’s not the Nitris. Whew!
