I’ve released the October emitters. I’ve been trying to focus on more “texture” or “background” emitters lately, and I really like some of the new ideas. I think my favorite is “Bumpy Wave 01” which uses a square image of a bumpy surface.

My problem with that emitter and the few other similar ones in this lib (there would have been many more like this except for this problem) is that I couldn’t seem to come up with a good technique for fading the edges of a square particle shape image. Seems like I was always left with a little white or black halo. Anybody with some tips on producing a square image with soft edges that are non-visible when used in particles in particleIllusion?

    Great, thanks

I play a little with the flare twirls 01, its really nice. For me this is the kind of emmiters that I use more often. I use a lot of “decoration” graphics just like a simple “line” or “dot” or twirls. I wonder what kind of emmitter used in the new ipod commercial?

Ps. As Always forgive me for my bad English Skills.

Alan… I have had a great time playing with these emitters and have come up with some interesting variations: https://phansen.ca/Backgrounds..il3

Those are a little too “crazy” for my tastes, but I’m using them as starting points for other variations. Images with faded edges are best, so please come up with more images! On the water lights image, if that image didn’t have the lights in it, it would make another really convincing water surface — do you have a similar image that doesn’t have the light streaks in it?
