  occasional proxies made

  My first time with EX-3 doing some corporate interviews. When we dump the card onto hard drives we are getting some proxies but not always. The file size seems to be above 3.6 gig then we get a proxy.
  Cant find anything in the op. manual and checked the preferences on the xdcam ex browser and found nothing there. we checked on all of the drives (the client is from out of town and we hold one and he has 2 drives as well. The data are the same on all 3 drives. The proxies are not a problem we’d just like to know whats happening?!?! Seems as we are just along for the ride
