  Obvious mask for growing hair

  Maybe someone can help with this issue I’m having. Its a simple enough task. Making hair grow from balding head. I’m using a still w alpha channel of a wig. So in AE I created growing hair using a simple mask. Problem is it looks really phony. I’m thinking maybe I should create a gradient mask using some photoshop hair brushes. Then try gradient wipe. Would that be a good route to take?

  I was asked to use the wig, its for a client.
