Obsolete Cinewave Cards for sale
Posted by Chris Monette on November 17, 2005 at 2:44 pmWe are replacing our Cinewave cards with AJA Io. Does anyone think that there is a resale value for the 2 Cinewave cards we have?
Thanks,
Chris

November 17, 2005 at 2:54 pmVery little considering they are now completely unsupported.
I still have two of them sitting here complete with breakout boxes and everything. I honestly have no idea what to do with them. We run two Kona 2 systems now.

November 17, 2005 at 3:01 pmHi Walter,
Should I leave them in the G5s that we have? Is there a way to make them play nice with the Io
Thanks for the prompt reply

November 17, 2005 at 4:02 pmAJA features a 2Vuy preset for Sequences that will play back CineWave captured footage. Unless you plan to use the CineWave for any future work, there’s really no reason to leave them in the machine.

November 17, 2005 at 4:16 pmOnce you use the IO, you’ll never want to go back to the Cinewave. We made the switch 18 months ago. Like Walter’s, our Cinewave (with 2 BOBS) sits gathering dust.

Does anybody know some modern artist type person who makes artwork and sculptures out of everyday items? Be kinda cool if we send all the CineWave cards, tethers and BOBs to someone like that and they make something out of it. 🙂
