  • Object Reveal- Alpha Shader?

Posted by Ryan Paterson on August 10, 2011 at 7:21 pm

I want an object to reveal itself over top of another, I have seen this effect done many times (though unfortunately I am hard pressed to find an example on the spot)

Wondering about different techniques? My first instinct is to use a shader in the alpha channel, AE being my main animation software, I want to set up (perhaps) a noise shader with black to be transparent and white to be opaque, alas C4D does not seem to work this way.

    Please advise!

C4D does work that way, black is transparent white is opaque (but that can be inverted if you wish). Just animate both noise colours to white. Same for Gradients etc

Hey what do you know, it DOES work! I was noticing black spots on my project but I think that must be related to something else..
