Hello and thanks for taking a minute to read this.

I am trying to work with a client that uses SolidWorks, trying to import an object of theirs into C4D. We tried an STL file but nothing showed up in the view windows. The object name was in the object window but no actual object in the view window.

I would like to ask if anyone has done this with SolidWorks before or if there is a better object type to try? Or maybe I am missing something and need a push in a different direction.

    Thanks for your time,

    Jay B.

    Hi JB,

My guess is that the object is actually in the scene but it’s so tiny you can’t see it. You could scale it up manually, or go to [Preferences>Import/Export>Stl Import] and change the scale to something like 100 and import again.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried both with no different results. When I do zoom in the object looks like a basic cube but doesn’t ever change in scale.

FYI, when I go to “object information” it says:
    Memory: ca. 1 KBytes
    Points: None
    Polygons: None
    Objects: 1

    Thanks,
    Jay B
