Oban?
Posted by Jason Stirret on February 8, 2011 at 6:19 pmI came across this Oban tutorial and spent awhile trying to download the plugin to no avail. Does anyone know where to get it?

the links half-way down that page work, the link at the bottom of the page does not.

February 9, 2011 at 4:51 amSo have you ever used Oban? I cant figure out where to extract the file. The pdf says drop it in the main directory – library – object folder. But there is no object folder in “library”. Any ideas?

February 9, 2011 at 2:44 pmI never saw Oban before this (missed it I guess). You can just open the file, it doesn’t need to be in the Library, that’s just for easy access – what we would do now is put it in the Content Browser. It seems to work but doesn’t refresh real quickly unless you move the timeline. I haven’t really checked it out but it looks like Mograph can do what it does.

February 9, 2011 at 7:23 pmThis might sound pretty fresh but how do I put things into the content browser? On top of that the copy of Oban I have I cant get to do or generate anything…just trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’m using Studio R12, you don’t think that would be a problem do you?

February 9, 2011 at 7:58 pmI’m on 12 too and it seemed to work but I have to play the timeline to get it to show. Getting things into the Content Browser is pretty easy, choose what you want and if it’s a material in the Material Manager Edit menu choose Save Material Preset… if it’s an object there is Save Object Preset… in the OM Edit menu. Drag and drop works too (as long as you are dropping into an non-locked preset folder). Whole scenes can be added by browsing for a file from the Content Browser. It’s covered fairly well in the Help too.
