O Connor 515 tripod
Hi everyone,
just looking for some opinions on a used O Connor 515 Fluid head with Tripod F/S for about $1000CDN or $875US. Is this a good head? Compared to a current Sachtler FSB-6 or Manfrotto 503HDV or 516?

Depends on what you want to put on it. That head is rated for about 17 or 18 pounds, I think… but I wouldn’t load it up quite that much. For a camera (plus all accessories on it) that weight up to about 12 or 13 pounds it should be fine.
Oconnor made/makes great stuff. I have three bigger/older Oconnor heads… they work as well today as when they were brand new, and Oconnor will service stuff forever (and their techs really know what they are doing and are very familiar with even their older products).
Seems like a more-than-decent deal, although part of that would depend on what model sticks the head is paired with.
Make sure the head has a camera plate. If not, you can still buy one from Oconnor, but will probably be about a hundred bucks.
