    Hi There,

I have problem. I have an SD MPEG2 file and FCP 7.0.3 when I import the MPEG file to the FCP it doesn’t see the audio tracks of the file (not even the QT). But when I import it to the MPEG Streamclit I can hear the audio tracks.

Do you have any idea what can be the problem?

You can’t edit Mpeg files in FCP.
Convert it in Mpeg Stream clip.
    Export to DV50 or something.

    Hi Gergo,
I don’t know the NXCAM, but I guess that its records the audio as MP2-Layer1.
Is an embed audio format and FC (QT) can not read it.

    Why?
    IMX is MPEG-2.
    HDV is MPEG-2.
    XDCAM is MPEG-2.
No problem with MPEG-2 on FC.

OK. The audio is AC3 (no MP2 as I thought) it could).
You need a component to let QT playing that kind of audio.
    Try installing “Perian”.

I have installed Perian and It doesn’t play the sound :S

Anybody ever used a SD NXCAM MPEG2 files in FCP. The Apple support sais FCP 7.0.3 can play the SD MPEG2 files.

    Here is the solution:

You have to copy all the folder tree of the memory card, and you can ingest the files with “Log and Transfer”. It converts all the files to ProRes422.
