There are three ways to view the output.
1. analog composite
2. SDI
3. HDMI
You go into the menu settings will have an options on output, and you can tell it which output you want.
Another output setting if you set it to output all, it will output the display as in the viewfinder, ie battery life, speed, aperature etc.
Chances are your computer has an hdmi connection, and possibley a composite connection. However All the computers I have seen assume that those connections are outputs on the computer, not inputs.
I have considered using a laptop as a monitor before, but have never seen a way to turn the computer connections from outputs to inputs.
