Nvidia Quadro driver….
Posted by Ulflaursen on August 19, 2006 at 3:34 pmHi,
I just installed a new PC for PPRO with a quadro card in it.
On Nvidia’s site the latest driver certified apparently is 77.56.
Anybodu know if I can go higher up on this?
Thanks a million.

August 19, 2006 at 5:02 pmNot sure how to answer this question…are you asking if there are drivers that are newer than what the manufacturer themselves state are the newest drivers?

Sorry for not making myself clear.
I want to know if it is safe to use a more current driver than the 77.56. The 77.56 is accordingly to Nvidia’s site certified for PPRO. The latest driver is afaik. 91.36, but I will not install any other than 77.56 if I’m not sure they are ok.
Thanks again.

You’re looking at the wrong place, 77.56 is for WinNT, for WinXP the latest is 91.36

August 19, 2006 at 9:03 pmThanks, but if you scroll down the page to the adobe logo it says that 77.56 is the latest adobe certified quadro driver:

I just want to know if I can use a more current one without problems – f.ex. the 91.36 or maybe one 8x.xx
Thanks.

August 20, 2006 at 3:11 amThe problem is that Adobe is a bit slack with stuff like drivers, I’m currently using forceware 81.67, usually I load a new driver when needed to correct a problem or to address a specific need, and then I set a restore point before installing a new driver for anything and if there is a problem its easy to go back to the point where it worked ok.

August 20, 2006 at 7:04 amI always go for the latest driver. If you have problems, uninstall and go back to the older drivers. But I can’t ever recall having problems with NVidia drivers and Premiere, and I often use the hacked drivers to overclock the GPU and memory. Am you can bet they sure aren’t certified!
