While the ATI Radeon HD 5770 and NVIDIA Quadro 4000 cards are the latest combination of graphics cards for Resolve, the highest GPU performance for Resolve continues to be the combination of NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 (GUI) and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 (GPU).

Is this really true that the 1GB GTX 285 is actually better suited to Resolve 8 than the newer 2GB Quadro 4000?

    Yes, 10% faster or so.
But, more heat, more energy, more space taken.
And then you can use a powerful GUI card for all the rest because it eats up two power cords.

That’s based on the 1GB GTX285 having more CUDA power, correct? What kind of difference would the 1GB vs. 2GB mean for higher than 2K resolutions? I would wonder if the 4000 is less likely to choke on huge frame sizes?

The Q4000 is highly recommended for working with larger than 2K resolution source files.

[Rohit Gupta] “Q4000 is highly recommended”

simply the worst GPU regarding prices and performances to use. Oops Rohit. :))
