Nvidia FX 4800
According to the most recent Resolve FAQ, the 4800 is the best option for a single GPU unit. Do they mean as a stand alone display and GPU in a workstation?
I have a 4800 being used strictly for After Effects, I wonder if I should take that box and turn it into our back-up Resolve slash RED (we have an extra card) box. -

i dont think that has ever been true.
Q4800 is a GTX260 with more RAM

Are you looking at the newest sheet? The 4800 is an old slow card by today’s standard. The GTX580 is listed as the fastest card in the build guide currently, I think.

Which is the fastest Nvidia Card for DaVinci Resolve?
DaVinci Resolve uses CUDA technology for real time processing, and so typically an Nvidia GPU with more CUDA cores, will result in faster performance.
Currently the Nvidia Quadro FX 4800 card provides the best performance in a 1 GPU DaVinci Resolve system.I dont want to waste any downtime on my AE box just to find out there is no major advantage.

That looks like an old link or FAQ that never got updated, check the config guide for current recommended hardware.

Haha buyer beware I guess.
It has to be an old link but still at Resolve section to date.
What do you use for Cuda testing?
Is there an app that can test that or basically just node test in Resolve? -
cuda-z is an app that can test the performance.
