nVidia CUDA Driver not loading
I have a MacPro OS X 10.6.8. I use it to run FCP and Da Vinci Resolve mainly.
I have a GTX285 (GPU) and GT-120 (GUI) installed, as well as a BMD Decklink capture card. The GTX 285 driver is a CUDA v4.0.19 which is an older version but the one that Black Magic design want me to run for Resolve.
The trouble I have is that the CUDA driver does not load on system start-up. I have to reinstall the driver each time I start the MacPro for Resolve to be happy. I have tried zapping the PRAM and creating a new user profile because it was suggested it may be a permissions problem but none of those have helped.
Anybody got any ideas? Black Magic support can’t figure it out nor can the nVidia card vendor. The card was originally a PC GTX285 but the vendor updated it with a MAC firmware flash. He says that to computer would not know that the card was ever PC and that it is identical to a card originally made as Mac OSX. Once the CUDA driver is installed the system works fine.
Thanks
