Nvidia CUDA Cards in SLI, will Premiere take advantage?
Hello,
I am in the process of building a new Premiere editing machine, and was wondering if Adobes Mercury Playback Engine supports SLI, and if having two Nvidia GTX 680’s in SLI would be beneficial.
If not, I would rather go the route of investing in a dual socket LGA 2011 board with either two 6 or 8 core processors, instead of the 6 core 3930k and dual 680gtx’s.
My main question, I guess, is does Premiere Pro benefit more from Lower core count, higher frequency, and more CUDA cores, or high core count, lower frequency, and less CUDA cores. Here’s my two potential builds
6 Core Intel 3930k, overclocked to 4.5ghz
2 x GTX 680’s in SLI
32gb RAMor
2 x 6 Core 3.3ghz E5-1660’s
1 x GTX 680
32gb RAMThanks so much!
