I would not spend a lot of money on anything new for a G5.
Find a used ATI X800XT or Radeon 9800 Mac Edition on EBay (if this is a PCI-X G5). The ATI cards have better performance for FCS than Nvidia…though if you can find the same card and were happy with it, go for it.

Hi John,
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
And yes it is a PCI-X , Even if it is an old boy ,sometimes I have clients that still(!)
use FCP 6 so I keep that system up for them.
