Activity Forums Maxon Cinema 4D Nurbs?

  • Posted by Laura Bet on May 28, 2011 at 6:58 pm

    Hello, I am new here, and I am a new user for Cinema 4d version 11.5
    My problem, which I really hope you can help me with, is that when I am trying for example to make a room with walls, or a abstract illustrations in c4d, it does not show me it like in this piture;

    https://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=cinema+4d+room#/d1j3q5l

    ((the fact is that it don’t show me the walls while I work with it, it only shows lines) – Which mean I can not get to step 2 in the tutroial))

    where I actually can see the walls in a grey color(like the rendering, and I do use NURBS, and make my spline linear its child, but it only shows it in skelet, or many white lines like this(this is just a kind of illustration, not walls, but hope you get my point):

    I’m not sure if it have got anything to do with ‘use rail scale’? If so, how to I edit it to be off or on?

    Thank you so much for that quick response, well my viewer was in wireframe mode, Instead I selected the box mode, and chose quick shading, but too bad it didn’t work. 🙁
    instead it came out as this: https://i52.tinypic.com/riz1ue.jpg

    But thank you for trying to help, I really appreciate it!

    it looks like you changed your Wire setting but you should be changing the Shading setting just above Wire. It looks like you have Shading set to Lines you likely want it set to Gouraud Shading (but try all of them to see what they do)

    Thank you for your response, but when I change the settings to Gouraud shading it does not help, but could you please take a look at this for me, you can see my display on the cube: https://i54.tinypic.com/2wftffm.jpg

    Thank you!

    Yes, it does happen every time I start to modeling something, even if it is not a cube. I think that my settings for wireframe, is there all the time, but even if I change the wireframe mode to another mode nothing happend. I guess that there is something in my cinmea settings that there is something wrong with, and I have had this problem for a little long time now, but I cannot fix the problem. I just wonder where I should change settings.

    You could try trashing the prefs for cinema4d. Faster than reinstalling. Quit out, trash prefs and start C4D again.

    I tried, but unfortunately it didn’t work.. I wonder if it got something to do with the fact that I cannot see the 3d axis, if it got somehting to do with that, is there a way I can turn them on? (and it is not to hit alt+D.)

    Thank you for your time!
