I have a clip that I want to track the persons head, but he moves quickly so I go frame by frame fixing my track when mocha messes up. But when I send it to after effects, the null object goes all over the place and not how I tracked it! I’ve done a few mocha tracking before and this has happened twice. I even did it all over again and still got the same problem with my null object and in mocha I can play it over and over and there is no issue.

    Hi Christopher,

Are you you viewing the tracking data via the surface and grid, or using the spline search area?
If you are moving the spline when the track is lost, you may not have a proper track, because the spline is not the tracking data, it is the search area the tracking is looking for information. Check the surface (the blue square) to make sure the tracking is looking correct.

If you are trying to track a persons head for the transform data only, I recommend turning off perspective and shear in the motion parameters.

I agree with Martin on turning of Shear and perceptive as it will give you a better track.

Also check whether you are Exporting the Tracking data for the Correct version of AE. Check the Format while Exporting. I would recommend to choose ” After Effects Transform Data ” (last option) .
