  • NTSC to PAL Audio Sync Advice?

I recently completed a series of NTSC DVD’s for a client who at the last minute requested delivery on DVD in the PAL format, too. I used the conversion method described in Cow FAQ, but had a heck of a time with the audio sync. I ended up using AVID’s AudioSuite Time Compression-Expansion plugin to change the duration of the audio track, which I then exported as a wav file, to replace the Encore generated wav file.

While this ultimately did the trick, it required multiple rounds of experimentation to get the audio to match. I am looking for advice on a better workflow, as my client is likely to repeat this request. Are there better solutions for this than AE? Is there a way to calculate how much to modify the length of the audio track so I could get it on the first try? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and advice on post conversion color correction would be helpful, too!
