    Hi there

I have been ask to produce a ntsc dvd, firstly I came from New Zealand which is all PAL so NTSC is totally new area for me. So was wondering how do you create your graphics? video I understand but the things I don’t know is what screen size for nTSC DVD menus and I have been reading you have to convert the 720×540 down to 720×480 to get the right aspect ration is this correct and does anyone know where I could download safe title areas for ntsc graphics.

    Thank you in advance.

    Cheers Duane Horn

NTSC uses 720×480 at 0.9 pixel aspect ratio. If you have Photoshop CS or CS2, you can work in 0.9 PAR natively. If not, use 720×534 (534 x 0.9 = 480).

Encore can show you safe margins by clicking on the button at the bottom of the menu editor window. Photoshop CS/CS2 also has preset document sizes for NTSC that include safe margin guides at 10% and 20%.
