Going from Betacam SX to FC Studio for eventual DVDSP project. I’m noticing significant quality loss from DV capture. Should I bump up to 8 bit or 10 bit capture? Quality loss is mostly in the PPT graphics included in the video. (Instructional)

    Thanks

My advice: take an hour ajd try a couple codecs and see what best fits your output quality vs. storage. DV50 might work great for you, or JPEG, or 8/10 Uncompressed.

Go with 8-bit, so long as your drives can handle the speed/storage. Allso, check out “online JPEG” easy setups
